Jangkar waterfall is one of the tallest waterfalls in western Sarawak. It is located near the foothill of Gunung Berumput at Sarawak-Kalimantan border. It is not easy to go there as that place is very remote. It is another hidden paradise of Borneo.

My guide is sitting in front of the waterfall. There is another waterfall on the top of this one. Will be back there in the future.

    The beautiful Jangkar waterfall.

    The hidden paradise!!!

There is no fish in the water except crabs, tadpoles & aquatic insects.

The journey to go there is a bit tough. We had to hike for 40 minutes from the village to the Jangkar river. From there, we had to climb, hop and walk along the rivers full of slippery stones, gravels and rocks. It was quite an exciting trip.

    A small cascade.

    Another cascade.

My cousin spotted a big Cymbidium orchid grows on a tree at the riverbank.

Unidentified species of orchid. - Dimorphorchis sp. ???

Nephylaphyllum beccarii is found abundantly here. If you don't look carefully, you won't spot this terrestrial orchid as it looks like dead leaves!
