Different types of CO2 cylinders

Hi All,

I will be getting a CO2 cylinder. But the thing is that there are the Black cylinders and the Green ones made in China! Whats the difference between the 2 cylinders? Are they different in Price or Material? Then again there are also those Aluminum cylinders. How much do they usually cost?

Looking through pass threads I find that more members have problems with the Green cylinders over time.

the black/silver cylinders are supposedly higher quality (more ex too!) but i have had no problems with any of mine
never used the green ones before but have heard feedback on problems with them.
well the big price disparity has to be based on something!
based on NA prices, the black silver ones cost abit below 2 blue notes and are around double the price of the green ones
so go figure

aluminium ones are much more ex as they do not rust and are much lighter

Hi,

The green color shoulder with silver body is meant for filling Oxgen. You do see this in hospital. Black color denotes CO2. (this is what I was told). Got this as my first set, those days got to bring to soxal to fill it. Got into one big problem there when they don't want to fill because of this, until I paid $5 or $10 to get them test it out and placed a CO2 marking on it. Anyway, now adays I get it refill at other place. The cylinder is with me for since 1996. no problem so far.
