Tried it before on the first attempt at planted tank...did not really like it personally (its a mixture of small sand and fertilizer)...dennerle fertilizers are better IMHO (just fertilizer i think) but more expensive though..[]

Sera is more expensive than JBL. Why not try JBL?

I started off my first tank with Sera floradepot. My subsequent tanks are all done using soil as base fertiliser.

Is using JBL or soil or any other base fert messy when uprooting for trimming?

I am actually considering Seachem Flourite. No base fert needed. Anyone with experience using that? (I think I have asked that before but no answer... but just in case anyone just tried it.)

BC, not really messy.. (not including the cloud of dirt from de-rooting)..

i went to nature to look for jbl but was not able to find. saw the floradepot selling at abt 24$ per bucket. i then went to genx and saw the jbl selling at 25$ per bag. so i thought might as well give floradepot a shot.

Nature is selling JBL base fert. Maybe he ran out of stock, saw only 2 or 3 packs when I was last there.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Initially tot of buying a 4ft tank. But money diverted to buy car liao. Otherwise how to go LCK to hunt for plants.

But still saving up for next tank. Flourite is one of my choice. The other is Onyx. But I frequently hear feedback that ppl don't like their looks.

I have ichy fingers. Always like to shift plant around. I am afraid if I use base fert, I will end up screwing up the water.
