with a budget of less than $100.
i know a good brand called ehiem.. but i think it will surely cost more than $100.

With a budget of ~$100, you should hunt for a 2nd hand EHEIM filter. Should be able to settle for one under $100. I'm using a 2213 and a 2215 for my 2 ft tanks. No problem with flow rates. Both are 2nd hand..

I remember saw somewhere that new 2213 is about $80. I might be mistaken though

A new 2213 might indeed fit your budget. But do note that Eheim's distributor has recently raised their prices to the shops, so the pricing might be different.

Beside Eheim, there are also other brands like Atman, Jebo and Fluval which you can consider.

I am using dolphim c-500, pretty good. But you can look at the mini canister filter than you can hang on with a clip. It is right on the front of NA. Price wise, look wise and work wise it gets the thumbs up from me.
