i oso heard some negative comments abt it.. y dun u try compressed Co2? any worries? it will be cheaper on a long run
Hi all,
I've read conflicting reports on carbo plus. Some say it's good, others say it kills the fishes etc.
I'm a newbie (totally zero experience in planted aquariums) and I'm thinking of setting up a 40 gallon planted tank. Intend to put in some riccia, together with some plants with low requirements like amazon swordplant, Java fern etc. (you get the picture). The tank will not be heavily planted.
The carbo plus sounds attractive because of its simplicity but at the same time, I don't want major disasters. Can users of carbo plus tell me how they have found it so far?
Thanks.

I guess I'm just worried that compressed gas may be harder to set up. "Plug & Play" works best for beginners, I believe.
toledosun, compressed Co2 isnt hard to setup.. u can call it a plug and play too.. unless u worry that the cylinder might blow up.. []
I also have heard stories about a block failing or running out much sooner than it should or not effective in larger tanks.
IMO, using compressed CO2 is quite maintenance free. I am not too sure about carbo plus.

IMO, if you're gonna use CarboPLus or similar product, you might as well DIY.
