Just fyi the minimum requirement is 250L/h, the max is 1200L/h...

The best is to be able to power the chiller at it's max flowrate as it can chill the entire tank in the shortest time...

I'm powering my chiller at around 1500L/h (This net as I'm using 02 X 202 & it still needs to take around 02 hours to bring the temp down 02 degrees...

So the best is to use the max flowrate possible...

    Bro Neon,

I managed to fix my External Thermostat & I'm using that as well... Works great...

What is the dimensiion of tank that two 2028 to filter (I presume they are not interconnect ) ? What HP is your chiller ? what is the external thermostat setting ? I am setting my to 20 mins delay once it reach the threshold (ie 27) on my 6'x2'x2' with 2x150w MH. My 1HP took roughly 30-35min to cool down from 27 to 26.

I'm using a 3 X 1.5 X 1.5 tank & my chiller is Hailea 250 1/5 HP, External Thermostat is set at 22 degrees (I don't set it so low as there is no diff)

The 2028s are interconnected... I rigged it up with a Y joint to combine the strength, I did this to ensure a higher flowrate so that the chilling time is shorter... Oh my mistake it takes around 01 hour to bring it down 02 degrees...

No delay as due to the diff in settings, mine is set 23 degrees but it only kick 01 degrees above the level (I set at 23 when it is 24 it will not kick & will kick in when it hits 25 degrees & I've checked the manual it's like this. It will only kick in when it is 25.0, I know because I've got another thermometer. But what I did was place the Temp Probe for the External Thermonstat fairly high up in the tank so that it would kick in earlier. The higher the probe in the tank the higher the temp as hot water rises)

From all the threads I have read from different fourm, it seems that problem for Resun start to appearad after 1 year. Is this true??

Hailea seem to be more reliable but have a know thermostat problem.

Well so far mine is ok but then again is only a 02 months old...

I heard about the thermostat problem but I think it does not only affect Hailea... But since the External Thermostat can be transfered I DIY-ed one when I bought my Hailea 250A...

The other thing is that you can measure the water in your tank directly & the External Thermostat does a better job of maintaining the water temp plus you don't need to have such a high flowrate...

So at the end of the day I think it's individual preference... I chose Hailea as the noise level is lower...

I did not take any pic of the inlet pipe leh... The pic is of my rainbar which is black...

But my inlet pipe is covered by a black sponge... But sorry bro I bought mine in Hong Kong...

Check out the local lfs in Singapore they should be selling as well... Mine is actually meant to cover the inlet of a Hang Over Filter...

You should be able to find those black sponge of the inlet. What is difficult is the correct size.

    I see...
Macau weather should be cooler than Singapore... Higher chances to breed out better quality shrimps also

Macau has 4 seasons so I might need to get a heater since it's winter now!!!

This is so funny for me as I'm from Singapore & we NEVER needed a heater...

Everyone is getting a chiller & here I am looking at buying a heater...

But at least during this period my Chiller did not even kick in once as the temperature is around 20 degrees recently...
