There's also Ap. bitaeniata, Ap. sp "Mamore", Ap. nijsenni....
Hi folks, this could be old news to a lot of you by now.
Nonetheless thought would be good to let would-be apistogramma-keepers know that there a quite a number of species available there now.
I saw Ap. elizabethae, Ap. baenschi, Ap. agassizzii Tefe and some others that I can't recall.
The ones at Polyart are quite well-housed in small tanks whereas the ones in C328 are 'prisoned' in those minute tanks.
Enjoy!
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
There's also Ap. bitaeniata, Ap. sp "Mamore", Ap. nijsenni....

Both of the shops there have been stocking up on apistos for the past few weeks....the Ap. agassizzii Tefe pair at polyart even laid eggs when i went there few days back
Their prices are pretty high compared to the other shop.
yorky,
i suppose these are farm bred?
i didnt see any eliza though (was there on tuesday).

It is a good day to die!!!
I finally uploaded an avatar and Cupid is dead!!!![]()
Personally believe that they are from the same source as the regular Apistogramma shop.
Hi celticfish, yes they do look farm-bred.
Nothing's stated about their locality nor if they are wild or bred.
Anyhow, wild Ap. elizabethae won't reach our shores at those prices unless its sold by mistake.. hehe

From their website, got few species are wild. http://www.polyartaquarium.com.sg/fish.htm
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
Not forgetting Ap. Macmasteri and Bitaeniata "shishita" also from 328.

Now swimming: Plecos and Apistogrammas
Hello,
I got my agassizii pair from 328 too, because its near my place and convenient for me.
Can I ask if their prices are 'competitive' in comparison to other apisto dealers?
thanks
Prices cannot be compared because you have to factor in the source of the fish, its locality, its quality and so on....
I believe its not fair to compare prices of apistos between 2 shops
my copper 1 cent

Competitive is just a more nice way to put as cheap.
But like Cacatuoides mentioned, it depends on many factors.
Farm-bred ones are generally cheaper than wild ones. And also price also depends on rarity of the fish in the market.
One example will be the Microrasbora sp "galaxy". When it first appeared, it was like 6 bucks a piece. Now?
Some apisto dealers might get the better deal over the other shops as they have the chance to select the higher quality ones like finnages, colour and size first as they are more familiar with the suppliers and market requirements.
Went to Polyart this morning and couldn't find any apistogrammas left.
All sold?!
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
Wah thats fast man. Though could visit them after my exams. If this is really the case, apistos are much more easily sold in the more patronized lfs then compare to the more specialize shops eg. Biotope.

I was there yesterday afternoon, all gone except 1 female apisto at in the display tank. C328 only left with a few pair of apisto
C328 got 1 pair A.elizabethae, A.shishita, A.inca, A.hongsloi and few A.cacatuiodes

I think its written there as Ap. Hoignei.....but strangely, it has two very bright stripes on its tail, looks artificial to me.
