I am looking for powerhead about 1000ltr/hr. I have tried few brand but after a while they make noise. What should I get this time. I need it for my pleco tank to increase current at the bottom of the tank. I don't like Eheim for this purpose because of the shape. I already using one for the trickle filter.

Thanks for the reply. I am installing EHEIM 1250 pump, it's not a powerhead and it will do for now. It will be placed at the bottom on the top of gravel and I will put a layer of foam to reduce the noise. It's a catfish tank. No choice since it doesn't have suction cap to stick on the glass.
Yes it's very reliable and never have to replace any eheim product so far. I have a "project" pump made by hagen I think. After a while become noise same with most other brand. Never try Rena but, except for heaters. I know Eheim have a powerhead but it's very small???

the 1250 is what we consider a powerhead

At 15 Joan Rd, there are some cheap powerheads for sale. most are Jebo brand. <$100 and most of them are >3000l/hr.

Not too sure about reliability though. I'm using both Eheim 1060 and 1250 in separate tanks

I have installed the pump, I use a layer of sponge to reduce the noise. It's running pretty good. Always happy with Eheim product they are v good. My 10 years old plus cannister 2213 still going like when it's new. Still can buy the parts, I broke the ceramic shaft once.
I think would be great if we can have suction caps accessories for it for on the glass installation. Maybe it just not design for it.
    Thanks all
