    Hi,

My 1.5' tank got a lot white sesame seed look-alike sticking to the tank wall, rocks and everywhere... it's difficult to scrub it off..... what are these things? I only got one big snail in it.... if it were it's egg, it has long hatched already.

Any pictures to share? It's a lot easier to take pictures on non moving objects in the tank.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    You are right!
    It is snail egg.
And that "snail" you have is yellow with black strips? If it is, it is a nerite. Their eggs require brackish conditions to hatch.

Yup! I will be there forever, you can scrap off those on the tank glass, but it is not easy to get rid of those on wood and other non-smooth surfaces.

I have a piece of bog wood and a surface skimmer that is full of those eggs to show for.

You can get rid of most of the snails, just keep 1.

It also won't hatch because you only have one snail. Nerites have different sexes, so they need a male and a female to reproduce.
