Zeek_fon, I have tried for Balansae & wendtii without any problem. Just make sure that your substrate is rich in nutrients. These are heavy root feeders. From my own experience, liquid fertilizer doesn't help much.

I also came across some bros saying that to prevent rotting, you can leave the plant floating in your tank for about a week before planting it.
    Cheers,

Just keep them undisturbed after planting. Use plenty of base fertilizer upon setup or alternatively use good quality fert tabs around the bottom of the plants. Most would grow submersed leaves in a week or two and slowly the emersed form will all die out. Patience is needed as crypts needs some time to settle in and grow. Dont turn your back though, if you give them good nutrition and optimum growing condition, some may grow giant like 100cm balansae and 30cm wendtii.

When I bought emerse crypt wendtii from Teo, I just directly planted in my tank. About 20% melt only and grow back fast.

Actually, most plants are sold emmersed as they are grown that way.

For Crypts, as mentioned, try floating them in the tank before planting.

Have a look at this thread...
