just bought a pot of HC...
will try to grow it emersed...
hands so itchy now and price of HC dropped ...
btw, if I have 1 pot, should I pot everything closed together or seperate them and plant in patches?
the plant is so small, can I put some gravels, then put HC then use gravels to "cover" them a bit ? or I have to plant like glosso.?

Seperate them and plant in patches. Depends on how many you have and how big is the pot. For me, each patch is around 1cm ~ 2cm sqaure. After few weeks, yours pot will be full of HC...
Yes, you can use those fine gravels to "cover" them a bit, then water yours HC after poting, so that those fine soil will filling up gap between HC and soil
Cheersss... enjoy playing with emersed HC...

has "planted" the HC in a small container using african violet soil mix...
hope that they will grow out well..
sigh... looks like container too small.. cannot cover it.. and 1 pot of HC almost cover the whole area liao. ..![]()
attached is a picture of what I've done..

does it means that I can grow HC like any normal plant ? does it require very high humility (i.e. the soil need to be wet most of the time ?)

Yes, you can, but, make sure soil or sand is always wet.

I covered it... :P so no need to water the plants everyday..

little update of my HC...

2nd picture -- some are growing taller.. 2nd picture
3rd picture -- normall they are covered
4th picture -- this is how it looks...
how to make them creep...??

upgraded the container... and added in a Downoi...
when removed the HC from the soil, I noticed that some are already crwling and goriwing sideways!
1st -- HC removed from current container
2nd --Downoi in container
3rd -- Downoi removed from container
4th -- Downoi and HC planted in new container
5th -- Finished product
enjoy...

Woo...looking nice man!You have better luck than me. My HC is dying on me...think didn't convert well to emerse. Ok ok I wait till your cookie box is over-flowing with HC than I steal some from you.

Oh yah...forgot to ask about temperature. fireblade keeps his HC in office so it is air-conditioned. I wonder whats the temperature for casey's?
