I think I saw an article somewhere about aquatic snails in salt-water conditions and I wonder if I can find any of these snails locally. Anyone know of any salt-water snails sold in local LFS? Would like to get some for my tank which has salt water and plenty of algae.

    Thanks!

It depends on your tank setup, is it brackish or marine? If it is marine, then I think that nothing less than marine snail species will do.

If you are referring to salt-water here as brackish, then the nerites found in our LFS are supposedly freshwater, unless there are new species available.

However, it is said that they are tolerant of brackish water, but the information is at best sketchy and unconfirmed. I am not sure or able to confirm if there are any brackish specific snails available at our LFS.
