Yes, that's very true. Even the RTG. With so many people... you can watch him pretend to be 'Hidden Dragon'.

This fella was in a tank with 3 reds, but he was literally the king of the tank, herding the other 3 into a tight group.

The shine seems to be up to the 4th only.

He's on market prawns now (trained by PetProv). He will usually take the first or second piece from my hands. The rest he will take if I let go when he swims near.
    ----------------
RTGs are generally known to be more aggressive than the other aros. Reds are known to be the more timid aros.

Shine up to the 4th is perfectly fine. You can watch the higher level scales develop at about 1yr old, 14"

How many market prawns is he eating per feeding and how many times a day?

My aro ate about 7 frogs a day when I 1st bought it back. Now, it's eating 8-9 per day over 2 feedings.

Still that is one healthy appetite [] Must be expensive to feed eh?

Hey Vinz, finally into the aro-keeping family liao.....very nice piece of RTG.
Juz 2 offer an advice I was given before - for RTGs, or xbacks, it is adviceable to keep them in lowlight condition tanks, and not 'sun tan' it too much. This is bcos the strong light will cause the 5th & 6th level scales to darken and it will be very difficult for the scale development to climb to the 5th level later on.

    Cheers.

    Spilo,
    HWChoy,
    Eggz,

Did I forget anyone? As its my house, and not a shop or public aquarium, I'd like to keep this limited to ppl I've met, ok? Thanks.

He's actually eating about 2 inches of market prawn over 2 feedings. I'll feed him more often on the weekends. He stops when he's full...

Came today to find an SAE dried up on the floor. Some how it managed to find one of the small holes in the cover... must have been trying to get away from the aro.

The feeding amount seems right. Try to feed 2x a day at least. I noticed that they can eat the same amount nearly 3x a day.

My aro is eating about 8-9 of those black small frogs a day. Luckily, he still eats some Tetra krill. It might need to go on a tetra krill diet when I go for reservist in Nov.

You're really lucky to get an aro that eats market prawns...

Hi Vinz, sorry but I have to take a rain check, saturday can't get away from the kids. Very much appreciate it though. Even my wife who saw your big tank pic like it very much. Have to use it as my 5ft tank approval application [:]
