    OMFGZ! It stinks!?!?

    What have I ended with!?

I better change the soaking water everyday before it stinks my home!

I guess I will have to soak it longer like a for a month now... I don't want my tank to stink and fishes to die!

it does stink a little but in my experience its not THAT bad
change the soaking water daily or one every 2-3 days should be okay
i boiled water to pour on it daily so the daily water change is perhaps why i didn't have a big problem with the smell

and what i experienced was that the colour did darken after boiling a couple times and letting the tannins leach out
but i had 2 pieces which i ended up not using and just left in my storeroom

guess what, 2 months later i dug them out to sell and they seemed to be back to the original lighter color (i hope its not my eyes failing me)
and after being left dry for 2 months the wood will float again
