    Update on my Glosso.

Some are crawling and some are still growing upwards. Even the crawling ones, the leaves tend to be long. It doesn't stay as low as those in the photos in Aeon's guide.

I was thinking of adding in a 13 watt light together with my 24 watt over the 1 footer cube tank. So basically I would have 37 watts total. Is that a good idea?

1 foot cube tank will need higher light than a 4 footer. Amano's 60cm tanks has 4.7WPG. According to this calculator, your 1x1x1ft (28.32L) tank needs 53 watts of light.

Try to hit 53W as Glosso needs that kind of light. Long slender leaves are a symptom of Calcium deficiency. For your tank size, try putting a handful of coral chips into the filter. This should act as a pH buffer and a sustained source of Calcium.

53 watts? Thats a bit high. Not sure if I can find a light with that wattage to fit a 1 footer cube. Might have to go with MH light to get that wattage in a compact casing. Maybe I'll try with 1x24 plus 1x13 and see how it goes.

As for the calcium, don't think i have enough space in my filter for the coral chips. Any other source of calcium other than the chips?

What kind of filter you using? Should be able to stuff some coral chips somewhere? Oh yes, make sure you have good reflectors, can almost double the light reaching the plants.

His Glosso growing out slender leaves which indicates Calcium deficiency. So coral chips can act as a pH buffer and a sustained source of Calcium.

    Its okay, thanks.

Its just that I've been adding 1/8 teaspoon of Seachem Equilibrium after my weekly water change. And since it contains calcium, just wondering wether it would help if I upped the dosage.
