I guess most will agree that Capricon doesn't have much variety of plants. At most about two concrete tanks of plants for sale.

If you are driving, try Teo Farm of Lim Chu Kang. Friendly people there and a few display tanks for you to consider the choice of plants. A few years back for each trip i normally spent about S$30 for 6-8 bags of different plants.

Capricorn's heyday (as a hub for plant hobbyists) was in the not too distant past when it occupied a not insubstantial plot along Old Tampines Road (where Gan and many other farms used to be before the lovely kampung-like area was 'developed' in 2002). The stretch was also very easily accessible by public transport. We used to call Elatine triandra after the old boss of Capricorn (ah pek), hence Ah Pek Plant, as he was the first to introduce the plant to the hobby.
