it might be, as I have 6000ishK T5HO that looks almost white on a matching ballast, but when I put it on a unknown ballast, light is dimmer with light purple tint. So better check it with a matching ballast to be sure.
I came across this brand of T5HO tubes in AquaStar Yishun. The brand is UV Lighting and this company seems to specialise in marine lighting. The AquaSun model I saw is non-actinic, Tri-phosphor with near zero red spectrum and lots of blue and green. Pretty close to Amano's NA Lamps.
The guy at Aquastar tested the tube and it appeared purplish. He claimed it was his ballast too weak cannot bring out the full color. Tri-phosphor also means that the 3 colors combine to make the light appear white right?
It also has internal 180 deg reflector, could be why it's S$44 for 4ft. Do you think this tube is worth the money for plant tanks?
I'm back!
