    Hi All,

I've heard from some forumers that Horti works just as well as the more expensive base fert sold at LFS (eg. Dennerle). I just need to find out which Horti product to use. I've seen a few kinds ranging from those for cactus to those for violets. Thanks for all the advice.

Simon: Where is it commonly found?

Last time another forumer was using "J.Arthur Bower's Specialist Aquatic Compost" ideal for all pond plants. He got it from Far East Florist along upper thomson road. $4+ for a 5kg.

Never tried it before as I used cocopeat bought from Cold Storage. Also quite cheap - $2 a 5L bag only.

I thot it was Aquatic Compost.

I'm using "J Arthur Bower's Aquatic Compost" (for pond and bog plants) for my 6 foot tank. Results were dissappointing. Had to add Root Monster, ISTA Iron Fertiliser to get better growth. I get better growth with JBL base fert even in areas unsupplemented with substrate ferts.

On the other hand, I still add substrate ferts to my JBL base fert to get even better growth.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

frankly, i don't think it makes a difference what kind of fert you use
i even thought about koping some from the soil they use to grow grass at the road side, but it's very untidy and clouds the water
i like the bioplast one because it doesn't dissolve even when it's on the surface
