Think all the filter does is "filter" out impurities?
Usually demonstration at shopping malls show the filter media with some form of sludge to denote that it actually works in trapping impurities. Not sure about all the other chloramine and chlorine unless there's some form of chemical agent etc?
    Anyone care to clarify?

this one is specially made for aquariums and not for human use ...it claims it gets rid of metals , chlorine/choramine , nitrates etc etc

    Does it look like this?

I was reading about it and realise that cartridge needs to be replace but it doesn't state the lifespan. Seems quite interesting. Please share your experience. Thanks.

Yeah,do share with us your experience...
Say...usage during water change etc? If it works as well as it claims, then it's gonna save you alot of trouble! Especially if you're one of the purists who insists on aged water or various kinds of water treatment to get rid of "unwanted stuff".

yes im using that ... bought from seaview priced $120 ...after discount $102....last piece left ...but when need replacement cartridge ...need to call in advance .

fairly simple setup , just screw into normal tap...comes with electro UP and PH UP ( apparently it removes ALL the stuff )

Life span depends on the hardness of your tap water ...i tested my tap water and tank water and realized that they are almost the same ! ( maybe i noob don't know how to test water , i was using api 5 in 1 test strips )

My tap water/Tank test results ( not really accurate) GH :60ppm KH 0ppm PH +- 6.5 Nitrile 1 Nitrate 40 ppm

    after filtration the test result is as follows , GH 0 , KH 0 , PH +- 6.5 . nitrile 0 , nitrate 0 ( don't know how to test for presence of chlorine/chloramine though )

after a few days of using the filtered water to top up the tank test results are GH 120 !!!! KH 0 PH +-6.5 nitrile 0 nitrate 80!!!

i dont' know why my tank nitrate level is forever so high despite using 300g biohome in my ehiem 2213 and adding almost 50 Mls of beneficial bacteria into the tank

    tank setup
    Tank : 2ft
    Lighting : 2x18watt Dymax
Filter : ehiem 2213 classic with 300g biohome and the rest is mechanical
substrate : custom soil from sea view
    Flora : alot ( dont't know the names )
    fauna : 6x guppies , 20+ cardinals , 4x oto
Temp : 26-28 using OHF mr aqua tornado
    CO2 : Nil

P/S : will sell it if anyone wants it ... i think its too high tech for me ...or if anyone wants to test it before buying also can ... just drop me a PM
