    Any idea where to get?

I'm not sure what the color codes mean but I think the 840 Cool White should be the 8000K one.

Here's the Spectral Distribution from their catalog.
IMO the 840 and 860 models are the closest to ADA's NA lamps.

    This is ADA's Spectral Distribution

In fact when I bought my ATI 8000k 4ft T5HO last year, the packaging was Osram. But the label is ATI. I supposed Osram is the OEM for this case.

I'm thinking of 2 x 6500K Osram tubes combined with 2 x 10000K Aqualight tubes to get average 8250K. Good idea?

Where did you buy it? I think 4 x Osram 8000K tubes is better than 2 6500K + 2 10000K. I don't know what the spectral distribution of Aqualight is. According to ADA, aquatic plants loves the green spectrum and ignore the red. But most ang moh brand tubes have more blue than green.

    No. 840 is 4000K.

1st digit is the deviation of reflected light from source.

2nd & 3rd digit are the colour temperature.

For instance, 860, temp is 6000K from source but actual colour fall on any surface could be +/-5000K.

That why ADA using 8000K as the colour temperature between 6400K and 7100K. Unless using lamp with Ra = 9.

Take note: Our sunlight colour temperature is about 5500K.

Just bought 2 Hagen Life-Glo 6700K from AquaStar.

The spectral distribution is very close to NA-Lamps but the color is considerably more yellowish than the stock 7000K tubes from NA.

I'm going to get some 10000K tubes to complement.

Got this from AquaticPlantsCentral. The Coralife 10000K tube has similar spectral distribution like Life-Glo and NA-Lamp. If I mix this with my 6700 I should get somewhat average of 8350K which should be close to NA-Lamp.

    Good idea?
