With all the talk about global warming, a sudden thought struck me. Where does our pressurized CO2 come from?
I guess my question is, are we taking CO2 out of the atmosphere or are we putting more in?

Probably puting more. It is probably generated artificialy by some chemical reaction. I don't think taking air from atmosphere and then filter the CO2 will be cost effective way to get CO2

one source of industrial CO2 are gasfields (e.g. those off Terengganu). Refineries use scrubbers to separate the CO2 from the gas, purify and compress it. It ends up in our cylinders and gassy drinks.

Interesting... So it seems our little hobby hasn't quite decided if it's going to be CO2 friendly or not

From what I know is from our air. A very compressor compress air and at different pressure different air will become liquid and store separately.
