Rainbow brand T5 lights

hi,
I recently bought a Rainbow brand T5 light for 1.5ft tank.
Model T55-H45. It has 4x8W T5 tubes.
like to confirm if its T5HO or normal T5 ?
and the E-ballast has burnt.
any way to be able to replace the orginal Eballast to a better one ?

i guess is LO type, cause 2ft is 24W and 1.5ft should be around 18W or ...lesser.

If you want to replace the eballast to better brand I think most of it can't fit into the original space. Unless you want to put it outside casing.

why don't diy one yourself?

i have attached the lights and ballast.
so i need to change to 18W T5HO tubes and Eballast ?
if dont have can a 24W tubes should be able to fit in ?


my tank size is 17x13X13 inches - 2x18W or 2x24W should be enough?

i manage to recycle the casing to convert it to a single tube 36W PL.
but the workman ship is not so good. haha

i think the minimum watt for T5HO is for 2ft 24w.
so no choice , replace my 4xT5 8W to a 36W PL
and change the Eballast too.

But i am worried about the thin wire of 4 core wire,
any one know where to get 4core wire ? think its not available in normal hardware shop.

If you live in the east side, you could go to Ubi, Homely Hardware. Big hardware shop, a building by itself.
