Anybody tried Riccia 'wall' before? I am not sure if Riccia will grow as good as putting tied Riccia on the base flat.

    Please advise

Personally, I prefer using moss as base than riccia. One good example is from Bioplast @Boon Keng. IMO, riccia will be messy when it grow and break.

I do agree with you somehow... but Riccia has its own attractions.

Riccia are ligter/brighter in color than most mosses and they can have a bubble effects which mosses can never achieve. The bad point is they can be messy if they break off and float on top of the water.

I guess each has their own attractions

I guess your are referring to mini Riccia?? Hope I am right.

The shop near NA is colourful and I agree they do sell many different type of plants but it is really like a mess and I don't even know they have this... maybe the next time I am there I will really go and check it out.

    Thanks for the info...

Totally agree with you daveteogh. Colofulful is a messy shop but you may find plants which other lfs don't normally indent.

I guess the key is to 'ask' It is in such a mess that there is no point searching by our self (wasting time!)... ask and you shall be 'given'

They have a lot of pretty plants... many varieties as well... but the price is also pretty. I find their plant more expensive than normal lfs. I will only look for plants there if I can't find it at any other lfs.

Tried but failed. It bubbled initially and it was stunning, but stopped on bubbling on the third day and eventually start to turn brown and rotten.

thier plants are no doubt more dear than other LFS but let's not forget that richard also invest in the chillers for the plants. I guess you have to pay for the "extra" service that he is offering.

Disclaimer: I'm in no way related to him neither do i patronise his shop as i find it too messy for my liking

Tried growing a moss wall months ago but scraped the idea due to my riccia growing upwards and not dense like how i expected.
Could the problem be due to weak lightings as with the case of glossos growing upwards and not creeping?

Riccia is a floating plant and I guess it will naturally grow upwards... if it is not dense, this could be due to weak lighting
