thanks guys for the warm welcome!

To start with, I read that the lighting requirement should be around 2.5 to 3.5 watts per gallons. So for my 2ft, I prefer to get around 60watts of lights. But we all know the space limitation for 2feets.... so wonder if anyone knows where can I get 2x30w flouresene tube ? or PL ?

    or perhaps I should get a 150w HID ?

Why not try to get a 2ft T5 will be much better and not so hot for the tank.

    either 3x 18 w t5HO or 1 x 55w PL is sufficient for 2 feet. If want super high light, go for 2x 55w

I was using 2 x 36W PL for my old tank, very good for high light plants like Glosso. T5 is much better but rather limited in bulbs if you don't look at the right places.

PL Lights are more common and you can find different Kelvins easily. T5 hard.

It also depend on what plants you intend to have, slow growing or fast growing.

If you are crazy enough, go for 4x24W T5HO!
    You get 7-up everyday!

Gives you the flexibility for choosing your own combinations of light spectrums. From 6500K to 8000K to 10000K. Even 5500K also have.
