Just bough drop checker to check my tank CO2 level. According to the manual, green mean ok, yellow mean too much and blue mean too little. However when I open the pH reagent, it is already green in color. Is this normal? I was expecting it to be blue.

Another question is what is the reaction time of this checker? I mean if I adjust the CO2 at 1pm, when can I see the color change?

What brand or drop checker did you buy? I use a Dymax co2 indicator and it does turns green when added to water initially but then turns blue after a while.

Reaction time would be 4 hours before you see colour change.

However don't rely on the indicator too much. I use mine with 4kh reference solution. It should turn green if co2 is around 25-35ppm. I had mine on green but still having BBA problems. Its only when I crank up co2 and with the indicator going yellow , then I see the BBA slowly stopped growing. So in my experience, green doesnt mean all ok.

Hmm... I can't remember the brand, maybe CAS. its the ADA knockoff bought from KS, LFS near Tiong Bahru plaza

The solution was green in the first place, before water even added. It does turn to yellow after 24 hours, I'm working in the morning so no time to check. According to my wife it is greenish.

I check on the ADA 2006 catalog. The picture shows blue (too little), yellow (ok) and yellow (too much). I’m seeing too yellow here though the picture description said that the middle picture is green. I guess I got slight color blind.
