Hello
I need some help in getting certain facts right.....
(a) Power Compact
I've seen these with 4 pins. Do they need a ballast?
When can I find 50/50 PC?
(b) E-Ballast
How much they costs and where to get them?
Many thanks!

i cant remebr if pl need eballast or not, i think they have a bulit in ignitor. but i using eballast for my 36w pl.
Acroporids and Tridacnids
All lighting need a ballast.
For Pl lights, use electronic ballast. Can DIY yourself, cos there are diagrams on the top, or can ask the shop uncle to draw for you.
If you are not confident to DIY, suggest you get someone who has done it before to do for you. 230V and the cost of the e-ballast+ bulb not cheap to try and error
The key to success is patience. If that fails, screw the guy in front of you!!
Thanks, guys.
Is that a PL that is only 1 feet?
I guess there are. I've got this 18W PL light here whose casing is 16 inches extendable to 25inch but the bulb itself is only about 8inches. Bought it for close to 40.... imagine I'm using that for my 2x1x1 ft tank now~!!!! Gonna upgrade to 2x36w soon.....brown algae all over~!!
I'm always confused PL with FL.
To be sure, are all PL 4 pins and FL 2 pins? I'm referring to FL that are used in those normal downlights...
How can I pack a lot of light power in a small area? What are the best options?
