Me new to CRS and is wondering if its ok to use air operated biofilter for a CRS tank?

Thinking of this as a water pump based filter will put some heat into the water thnx!

air operated filter probably could not keep up with the population of the CRs once they start breeding like rabbit....

so far Canister filter is a better choice for most CRs keeper

If you use the correct size cannister or pump to your tank volume, you shouldn't be worried with the temp increase.
