I need some tips on new tank I am setting up.
I bought this 10g tank again. (now I have 3 tanks 1 for fish, 2 for shrimps...)
I had this one tank about 4months now which was my 1st tank. (Shrimps are doing fine and water is good but, lay out seems to be too ugly and filled with plants...) My lay out setup wasn't good. My 2nd tank is now setup for 2weeks and looks a lot better. (2weeks of tank water ph is 7.4) Later on my 3rd or 4th weeks, I want to put all my cherries and crs to this new tank. I did put some java moss and some hair grass. Also, using normal gravel rocks. (going to put more plants later on... these were just for setup right now) I did keep shrimps for 3months now and about 8 of them died and left with about 10 cherry and 6 crs. Also, getting 5 new crs next week. Do you think the cherris and crs might have stress moving to new tank? I am going to put one cherry next week to see if the water is ok. I don't know if this is the right way to put shrimps to tank. I do get small container and put shrimps there with the water which shrimp was in. I put little water to the container. The water is from the tank which I'm going to put. I do that every 5mins til I hit 30mins. (Letting shrimp feel the water...) When I put shrimps, I use plastic soon and slowly put them one by one. If anyone has other suggestion please share. (This time I really don't want to lose shrimps... My 1st experience with setting up tank and putting shrimps to new tank was ugly ) If my camera was working right now, I would had photo taken... (oh by the way, if my english is not good, please understand. My 2nd language...)

Do ensure that the tank is fully cycled before adding the shrimps. Ammonia/nitrite test readings should be 0.

I just setup my CRS tank last night & I bought some CRS from a fellow hobbyist.

He told me to leave the CRS in the plastic bag but leave it open to let air in... Leave it in the tank for 30 mins... I clipped the open bag with clothes pegs...

Next pour in some water (Not too much) from your tank into your bag wait for another 30 mins... Do this 02 more times... Total 03 times...

Total time taken 02 hours... 30 mins for CRS to get used to the temp, another 90 mins for your CRS to get used to the water condition...

I checked this morning before I left for work no casualties... Hope this helps... I know it takes a long while but as the chap that I bought my CRS from this hobby teaches you to be patient... Look how long it needs to cycle a tank...

i've used the ultimate drip method acclimatiser ever since i've read up on it
and it works perfect for me
ever since i changed to use the drip method (previously was add a little water into the floating bag every 30mins), i have had zero, absolutely zero casualties

i use it for anything, fish, otos, shrimps
