Type of material for tying moss on

What is the best material used for tying the moss on (DW, ss Mesh, rock, etc)? I personally had spiky moss tied on DW and another on ss Mesh, but suprisingly the spiky on the DW grow very well unlike the other on ss mesh (some part dying). Both are grown in the same environment (in the same tank).Anyone could advise why there are such drastic difference?

There shouldn't be any difference. My only guess is that the moss on the dw is nearer to the light, cauing it to floursh...

My mosses on DW is nearer to the light and they grow extremely well.
I have mosses on plastic mesh and they don't grow as fast as they are not in a brightly lited spot.

That's the key difference I guess

Ah i see... But mine is a nano tank, should not have so much difference... But i agree too, because the one on dw grow is nearer the light source.

To piggyback on whq's thread,do tying methods directly affect moss growth? For example, do moss tied with fishing line grow better as compared to moss attached with wire mesh?
