If I were a fish, I'd BREED all Day!

if i'm not wrong its hong yang pet shop that we are talking about. you are right by saying that the boss is very paricular about his stock. they bring in handpicked plecos too.
an interesting thing which i saw at the shop last week was a female cacatuoides in brooding mood, with a handful of fries still with egg sacs resting on the cotton wool area of a small potted plant. that pair has managed to spawn even with 3 plecos and other fishes inside a common 1 ft cube tank i think. the male got so stressed by the female that he jumped over to the next tank. speedy emigration!

If you live in CCK best place to go... owner is very resourcefull and knowledgeable.. his family has been in the aquarium business for a long time From Farm to Aquarium!
Oh yeah that pair that had spawned in the tank... it was awesome... i've been going down every other day just to see them.. at least 20 + fry.
the fry are free swimming now... an awesome sight
yeah he does bring in a whole lot of cool plecos too..

If this shop is worth checking out, why are you keeping it for yourselves? Please share and submit the information in our LFS directory.

Wonder if I should go down to have a look to see if it is really as good as what it is describle. What is good to one might not be to others.
But a good LFS is good for fish keepers as it ensure the quality of fishes coming in.
Do submit it to the LFS directory.

i think a few of our members has went there to get stuff from ah yong after my referral(remember the loose ada soil) and recently i brought some bros down after our outing to teo's. while i agree that what may be good to me may not be good to others, just by what yard stick are we measuring this standard against? off the record, hong yang is one of the few shops that i actually know who will discourage you from buying his stocks if he finds that you are not ready for them. while his stocks and hardware may not be the cheapest around, but i can strongly say that Ah yong(the boss) is one guy who know and loves his fish. By the way, his family also owns another stall in jurong west market.![]()

one thing i find about ah yong is that he is also very very humble and open to others' opinions, unlike certain fish shop uncles who think that they know it all and are all that but actually they are just laughing stocks to others (just saw one today, with bro david and senjie).
i agree that what is nice to one may not be nice to another, as such i firmly believe that when it comes to fishes, it's best to get something which you really like and will enjoy personally, as everyone is entitled to their own views. hong yang is a good place for pleasant surprises, but i'm currently still waiting for my plecos!!!!!! haven't arrive!!!! but i like the red line torpedos i saw today...
nice meeting you bro david, and thanks for the chat. by the way, you were very quick in reserving all the cacatuoides fries!!! haha....
