    not really
i do a siphon once a week during the water change to keep it from getting too dirty
and every long while i will top up some sand to compensate for the loss from the weekly siphoning

but of course its impossible to expect the sand to be spick and span all times
as my apisto thrashes around abit and dirties it

but i can live with it

I find the centre piece abit too blocky/squarish, doesn't look natural. How about adding some tall hairgrass at the back?

IMO, the scaping is well framed, giving viewers the same impression as looking at a photograph

i agree that its blocky and the scape would do much better with better rocks
but unfortunately its hard to find the kind of nice looking dark colored rocks that i like - so far i only see biotope selling these kind of dark rocks and choices are still limited though.
i must also raise my hand up to say that i haven't really been very hardworking in looking for rocks!
if you got a good place for rocks to recommend me im more than willing to listen.

the middle rock also sits too center for my liking, but somehow or rather i tried moving it around previously and the most pleasing view (to myself that is ) almost always ends up quite central

for the tall hairgrass, actually i had experimented with it previously in this tank and didnt like the look as i ended up preferring the hairgrass-less, more 'clean' looking scape
secondly and admittedly the main reason is that personally i find tall hairgrass a pain to plant and to trim with all the small bits floating around

anyway since the tank is running well and fishes are doing well, im reluctant (and lazy! ) to do any major change to it, although i know very well that improvements could and should be made
im from the school of "if it works dont change it"

and the comment about it being well-framed, i presume thats a positive comment? haha 'cause actually i have no real idea what it means
    is it a photo-taking jargon?
