Although the price is a little pretty, I think it is worth the $$

    Thanks for your recommendation

    oh you bet!
i have 2 cubes and both are on eden501's with mr cools

planned to change the filter to a 2211 initially
    then changed my mind as
    - 2211 has no autopriming
    - 2211 is pricer compared to eden501 (even more pricier when add in the taps)
    - the pipes for 2211 are ugly green and buying the parts sets is spending way too much $$ for a few plastic pipes

glad i didnt change as i am very pleased by the overall look of the tanks plus mr cool and eden 501

OOT: may change my in- and outflow pipes for the eden501s soon
have news that replica mini lily pipes suitable for small tanks are coming in soon (very soon )
i will discuss this in my lily pipes thread and update everyone when i have the details (price, pipe size and measurements)

What are the benefits of using lily pipes as compared to normal spraybars?

I have been hearing a lot able lily pipes and I know ADA has it... but I can't see the benefits

1 thing is for the look
more minimalist and looks like less things in the tank
it also acts like a "surface skimmer" by creating a small water vortex and sucking in the protein film on the water surface

by creating a vortex, will that create a better "turbulent" flow to spread the nutrient ? or will that create dead spot ?

Just to clarify something, if my tank's temp is at 24deg, will putting a Mr Cool help to maintain it at 24deg or it will get it up to 26deg in no time due to the ambience temp?

P.S 24deg due to aircon at night and tank is in room so not much heat.

Do you on your air-con 24 hrs??
I don't think you can maintain constantly at 24 degC without air-con otherwise nobody will buy chiller

Using a fan will surely have cooling effect... it will not increase the temp from your current tank water... it is the evaporation that causes the cooling...

For instant, this fan cool my tank water to 26 degC... I switch on my room air-con and it lower the temp to 24 degC.

Therefore if you can maintain your tank water temp at 24 degC, using fan will surely lower it further.

I switched my aircon on for 10hrs. The rest of the day is without aircon but the max temperature my tank will hit until 11pm (when i on my aircon again at night) is 25.5deg. So i was wondering if its better for me to get a fan to keep the temp at 24deg (if its able) as the ambience temperature will be normal room temperature.

sim lim square has the best fans. 12cm and silent. All you need is a customed Dc/ac->pc wire adapter, which cost roughly around $5-$6.

Mr Cool? Never heard of this brand though. Currently trying to replace my small Jebo fan with a larger one, maybe will give Mr Cool a try. Wonder if C328 has them...hmm.

Great! For me, I used to get a fan from Sim Lim tower. Good option. I choose fan with a low current

Sim lim tower will be a good place to go shopping for fan. Try to get an A/C fan, no need an adapter and stronger compare to a DC fan. Pricewise is around 12 for a normal fan and 20 for bearing type. But i do not know what's the difference between a bearing and the normal type cause the price is close to twice.

A spraybar moves a column of water vertically of horizontally depending on the owner setup.

If you are using the end of a tube as your outlet, then it is a point source outlet.

A lily pipe however has a similar operation as the point source outlet but the unique design of the outlet on the lily pipe actually slows down the water exiting from the point source part of the pipe. It create turbulence at the mouth of the lily pipe where the water exit. The water flow coming out of the lily pipe is flowing out differently, diffusing the point source action from occuring.

You need to know what type of setting you may want to achieve before setting up your tank. Water flow is important in a planted tank. There is a 3rd party lily pipe attachment which is green in colour. You could attach this to your tube outlet and get the same effect as the lily pipe. But beware, if you have a large tank, the water flow will be significantly reduced as I've found out with my 3ft back then. I've forgotten how much it's cost but I can say it's cheap, just that your equipment won't looked like the ADA ones and you might need to hide it as it might looked like an eye sore compared to the ADA ones.

    Hope this helps!
