Sorry, now then realise I have not reply to your post. I have most of the items he listed except for the tank so I don't think it makes sense for me to buy the whole set again. I also have a phobia of buying used tanks. Thanks for the info anyway bro.

Rescape my cube tank. This is how it looks like now. Removed all the fishes to another 2 tanks and left a small Green Spotted Puffer in it.

What is the purpose of having the Green Spotted Puffer in there? A long term tank inhabitant?

Saw it at a lfs and love at first sight. There were other fishes in this tank before I rescape such as 5 guppies, 1 oto and another dwarf puffer which was given to me by another bro here. Since I have shrimps in my other tanks and this puffer was attacked by the other puffer, I figured I have to separate the 2 and so I just left this puffer alone in the cube tank. Any suggestions?

    Thanks and regards.

Yes, they aren't exactly community friendly fish, will nip fins and only eat live/frozen food. So they are more suitable for a species only tank.

However, if the Green Spotted Puffer is what I think it is, i.e. Tetraodon nigroviridis, it is a brackish water fish. In the long term, it will not do well in a freshwater tank. Housed in a freshwater tank, they will get fungus and other disease easily.

You may have a problem converting your tank to a brackish tank without considering if the plants are adaptable to brackish water.

Have a read on the brackish water puffers part here,
    http://homepage.mac.com/nmonks/aquar...kfaqpart3.html

Carinotetraodon travancoricus, or the dwarf puffer, on the other hand, which I think is the original one that you had, is a freshwater fish.

    looks much better bro!

whats that small plant in front of the tenellus?
pic too dark i can't ID

as i mentioned in our pm exchange
perhaps you can add in some small rocks tied with moss at the border of the gex soil and the decoration sand
i think will help improve the scape abit more
plus helps to keep the gex soil from crumbling onto the decoration sand

and if you find the black oyama makes the scape look too dark,
can try use white oyama or no oyama and see if it looks better

Those small plants in front of the tenellus are app given to me by a nice bro here. Went around hunting for rocks but can't find nice small sized ones so left it bare for the moment. Will go hunting again tomorrow for the rocks. Been using tweezer to remove the soil from the sand piece by piece

I agree the back looks too dark. Considering removing it or getting black wire mesh and put some moss on it for the back wall. Thanks for your advise.

i think the tenellus may overshadow the app when it grows out into a thick bush

small rocks, if you don't mind the cost, can buy a pack of ada moss balls
more than enough to tie many many small moss rocks
    i use that myself

i think white oyama will change the look quite abit
don;t suggest a moss wall for you as itt'll make the whole thing look too green

Ada moss balls? Where can I find that? Can pm me indicative price if not convenient to post here?

I think I wll remove a bit of the tenellus when it spread abit. I agree it will look too green with the moss wall so might just remove it and leave it bare.

    Thanks and regards.

Both bro... The aquascape and the little puffer resting on the sand bed. Nice colour it has but will it disturb your substrate and uproot your plants?

Thanks bro, I just kidding about the puffer

So far it does not disturb anything at all. Its not resting on the sand bed. Its always swimming up and down at the front of the tank area. Only thing is it wiped out my shrimps in my bigger tank when I placed him there when this cube was being rescape

I have apisto in my other tank so can't place him there as well. Only place is this cube.

Uhm, sorry to the point of sounding like a broken record, but do allow me to repeat this.

That is a Tetraodon nigroviridis, which:

    1. is not dwarf and can grow up to 17 cm TL,
    2. is a brackish water fish, which means it is not suitable to be housed in freshwater tanks with tetras/minnows etc,
    3. not cute when it tears into your fishes fins and tails

    Happy fishkeeping.
