BW need to be soaked... if not will have slime

My first BW soaked for more than 1 week... put into my tank and still have some slime... luckily my OTOs are like hungry souls.

I am soaking another right now and it looks terrible with slime like yours... but I am cleaning it and hopefully most of it will be gone in a week.

You can try to scratch them off... I did scratch them off as they are really unsightly!

I only soaked mine for a day and boil it for a few hours cos it won't sink. Might wanna get another piece of BW instead.

just sifon it while doing WC. it will gone after few weeks..I posted before regard this issue also ..

No need to scratch your head throwing all the unwanted shrimp or OTO into the tank unless you intend to do so.

Last time I soak mine for about 2 mths just to get all the tannins out and to get it to sink. It does have this problem also but I just brush it off when I wash it. Some shrimps also eat this I think. Anyway, if yours is already in your planted tank, it may be a bit difficult for you to take it out and remove it manually.

Yup, throw in some shrimps (ghost shrimp do the best job - which ended up becoming snacks for my discus) and the fungus will disappear.

There's no need to remove the bogwood, leave it in, it'll disappear over time. Since its 3 feet long, removing it is almost like doing a rescape all over again.

Mine are almost gone. Thanks to the sole oto I put in and maybe those 5 guppies. Saw one nibble the slime. Might be because mine is a small little cube tank.
