    Just purchased a pair of viejita(or Apistogramma macmasteri?) last week at C328. Quite like their color Sorry about the blur photos bacause was taken during MC at home yesterday, hand shaking because of the medicine

    Very nicely coloured up....
    somehow the hair algae on their cave makes it look a tad bit nicer..

    From the shape of the caudal spot, it would most likely be a A.viejita. But in the domestic strains, there are alot of cross breeding between A.macmasteri and A.viejita.

    Even in the wild, there are specimens caught which have intermediatary characteristics as they are pretty closely related and often found in the same locality.

    i would say viejita.
    macs are usually broader and bulkier.

    Look like there is a spawn with you. Well, whether its a Viejita or Macmasteri anot is not important. What important is you must like the fish. Well they look like a pair of macmasteri to me.
