    Hey fellas,

Here are some pictures of a male from my first batch of fries.

    Picture 1.

    Picture 2.

He is the fastest growing amongst the fries and he is the first to color up so nice. *sorry for the poor photographic skills - only got a cheapo digi cam*

Thanks tcy81, yea i keep them together with their parents from day one until now. I only took some dither fishes so that the tank isnt that crowded. When I manage to find a female for him, I'll put them separately in another tank.

Yea, he is the fry from my first batch of spawn. He looks alot like the parents, even better than the father i would say. The blueish silver markings on the face and eye is more intense and it goes all the way to the tail on the body.

So you kept the parents with the fries since day 1? that is awesome. I always thought the parents or the dither fish will eat the fries up. If what you said is right, it may cut down my space requirements.

In order for the above to happen

    1. What is the size of your tank?
    2. How many dither fish? pencils?
    3. Is this the first spawn? If not, did the parent eat previous spawn?

    1. tank size is 2ft(L)x1ft(D)x1.5(H)
    2. 5 mollies, 8 white cloud mountain, 2 zebra otto
    3. Yes, first spawn.

Note. I am not aware what was the actual size of the spawn, the fries were soo small, i could not keep track of them. However 7 of them managed to grow until now.

Wa.. dont know how you do it. I would imagine the mollies to eat the fries when there is a chance to do so. They eat almost anything. Either you are very lucky or the parents are extremely protective..

Yea the mother was extremely protective, always hovering around her fries and chasing away any fish that came too close. What about yours? is the female very protective as well?

Yea, i would put them up for sale when they are ready. As he is the alpha male, he is the biggest in the batch. Wait til the rest grow a tad bigger.

Would love to take pictures of them, however I do not have a good and sharp camera hence all those pictures come out lousy and a little blur at times.
