Are rams gentle to shrimps (Cherry or Yamato)?

I had experience where my Yamato shrimps killed by juvenile pair of Apisto within 5 minutes . I bough 5 big Yamato, bigger or same size as the Apisto, I though it will be save. However once I through them in, both Apisto attached the Yamato without merci. I only manage to save 2

german rams are much more aggressive than apisto.. so IMO.. try not to put yamatos in.. especially when their breeding period..

Most cichlids are aggressive by nature.

I've seen Rams in tanks with shrimp. But I guess it may depend on size of the tank, temperament of the particular fish and whether it's mating period.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

But my rams are doing fine with my yamatos in a 2ft tank. Unless if the yamatos are vying food with the rams, then the rams will chase them.

I find rams more gentle natured than apistos in general. however, they are still cichlids, which are by nature aggressive as vinz has pointed out. i think with rams it boils down to the individual's temperament, just like with discus (another sometimes gentle sometimes not cichlid), some people have had the good experience of breeding cherries with them, but others (like me) have had jumbo yamatos decimated in a matter of days

I believe RAM is more aggressive than guppies, I have seen my guppies eating my cherry shirmplets like feeding "tempura", from then, no more fishes in my shrimp tank.

your fishes will need to be well fed and the tank heavily planted to avoid them from picking your shrimps...
