what i did when some scotch tape stains left on my tank outer glass was to use an algae scraper on it
surprisingly good at removing the stain and no scratches

I use zippo lighter fluid and a razor blade. Works quite well.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    Cheers,
Similar brands like Ronsonol works the same. Use a phone card or cloth/tissue paper to prevent scratches.

Thank you all for the good advice. Never knew there are so many substances that can get rid of the stubborn sticker stain. It is a good learning experience for everyone here

In my case, last night I found a bottle of turpentine (don't know whether it is called thinner??) in the store room. I applied cotton wool with turpentine and rubbed vigorously on the stain. To my surprise, the stain just melted away into white solvent. Then I merely used a cloth to wipe the white solvent clean. Little effort and no scratching on the glass surface this way.

I agree with Axe oil. Works like a charm and most people would have it in their homes anyway

if you want to be really safe.. just use regular cooking oil... rub until all melted.. and repeat if necessary... last step use soap to remove.
