    hi, my 2ft tank is almost ready for shrimps now... the yamato are doing well, and so are the neon tetra... wanted to know what is the safety number for me to put in some cherry ?

    what's the typical amount of cherry do we put into a tank ? will they fight with neon ?

    I have moss

    Safety number? hard to tell, depending on you filtration system. How many fauna do you have now in your tank? You can start with 20, it will multiply soon.

    how big is your neon tetra?

    I have 20 neon, they are 1.5cm or so... pretty avg I will say. 5 yamato, 2 otos and some snails (not by choice)

    using eheim ecco, smalllest.

    was thinking of placing bulk order for 50, but worried about over crowding.

    I have a 2 feet tank only breed cherry shrimps and no fishes, with a normal internal filter and two fans, roughly about 200+ shrimps (as big as 2cm and as small as 2mm in sizes). I believe with fishes like tetra, guppies, red nose etc. they will feed with shrimplets when they are hungry.

    if you want to add fish inside, go for otos and small boraras. I had Boraras brigittae and otos on my shrimp tank and the shrimp keep multiplying .

    in my tank,i only put shrimp,no fish.boraras are good hunters of baby shrimp because they can easily squeeze in small places where baby shrimps hide.

    used a 24L nano tank, fans only. cherry breeds at acceptable rate. not too much, so the tank don't look crowded.

    Neither agree nor disagree. Depend on what type of fishes...

    I have Boraras spp, C. margaritatus, T. espei and oto in 1ft tank, my cherry shrimps still breed.

    Conclusion: Small peaceful fishes + hidding space for shrimps are safe.

    Imo, no safety number of shrimps as they will breed very fast if condition satisfied them.
