    Hi,

Just want to share the above mentioned with everyone. Not sure if this is common but this is the first time I'm having flowers in my tank (apart from Anubias) . Planted it around middle of June this year.

A hectic week being rewarded by nice & beautiful flower from my own tank .

    Nice!

Another plant that will flower readily is Aponogeton crispus. Its a rather tall plant though.

    Hi uklau:

How tall is your tank? Blyxa japonica is a short plant and I have never seen them flower in my 1.5 ft tall tank. But I have seen the taller cousin Blyxa aubertii flower though.

    Hi Koah Fong,

Sorry that I missed out your post. My tank is the standard 2 feet FivePlan tank. Slightly higher than 1 feet. Couldn't locate any better photo for this. The below photo was taken from the side of the tank.

    Cheers,

It was, Chong Yu. I started off with only a pot & ended up giving away to 6 forumers (kept 3 bunches for myself). I believe the use of Wonder-Gro Root+ coupled with CO2 injection produces this massive growth.

    Koah Fong,

If I didn't remember wrongly, this plant will only flowers when grown emersed. Mine touched the surface of the water (simulate the emersed form) & that could be the reason it flowered.

MASSIVE! lol how big is it may i ask? Was curious after crossing this thread and did a search on yahoo. Found that some people's Blyxa japonica started blooming after the leaves touched the water surface. Reckoning that yours must have grown so big and the moment the leaves touches the surface... BLOoM!

btw...they do not bloom underwater...do they? i've seen only buds so far.
