Just saw some Aulonocaras in our Local FIsh Farm in Lim Chu Kang Area... Just being curious... Are these fishes simliar to apistogramma also? I actually saw the staff there mistook them for apistogramma when i ask them if they have apistos.

Nope, he's referring to African (Lake Malawi) cichlids, also known as Peacock cichlids. They generally grow larger than apistos and have very different behaviour. furthermore, if i'm not mistaken, they require the complete opposite in terms of water conditions - hard and alkaline water instead of soft and acidic.

A quick search will yield a lot of interesting information and pictures about these peacock cichlids from Africa.

Thanks guys... At that farm, they placed the species name in front of the tank...When I ask the staff about them. He told me they are the same as apistogramma. Luckily i controlled my urge to buy them if not the fish may have died in my wood-setup tank meant for apistogramma.
