Oh and I just read that they need a cool temperature of about 20°C... Air-conditioning?

Aquaclay as in the clay balls? Those are good as a base as they allow drainage. Any substrate on top of the clay balls would be ok. As long as there're no artifical fertilizers or harmful chemicals in them. ADA is a good choice...

    2) where do you guys get the emmersed moss from?
You can collect terrestrial moss from the drains around your neighbourhood. Or simply, take some of your erect, java or taiwan moss from your tank and plonk them in your vivarium. With the high humidity of a vivarium (lid/cover on), the moss will convert to emersed form soon.

    3) my plan of setup is a driftwood on the left and some emmersed penny wort behind.. and also emmersed moss on the forground...do i need peat? if yes, where to get them?
If you are using ADA soil as substrate, you do not need peat.

1 warning... If you are using pennyworts, you WILL need constant trimming. And I mean it when I say constant trimming. They run fast and send runners everywhere. And they root deep!... Speaking from experience...

Find terrestrial plants or emersed Hygrophila sp. or emersed Java fern as back ground plants might save you some problems...

4)can i use submersed moss.. but i maintain it moist will it turn emmersed?
    I answered this...

5)where do you guys get those emmersed fern?

    thanks!
You mean Java fern? Most Java fern are sold as emersed nowadays... Plenty available at C328...

Do note that terrestrial plants in the open belong to National Parks or HDB. You will be risking a fine when caught... You can visit nurseries and aquatic plant farms for a HUGE variety of plants you can use... Emersed aquatic plants are a good choice too...

    Good luck and have fun!

Oh, 1 more thing... It is not in line with AVA regulations to keep or sell or buy newts. As such, do refrain from discussing the price and where to find the newts etc in the forum. Thank you.

Here at AQ, we had reminded the members on this issue. See here:
    http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=18674

Also, please refer to the AVA website for more details:
    http://www.ava.gov.sg/AnimalsPetSect...ex.htm#animals

It is stated there that types of animals allowed to be sold and approved for sale in pet shops are :

    - Dog
    - Cat
    - Rabbit
    - Guinea pig
    - Hamster
    - Gerbil
    - Mouse
    - Chinchilla
    - Red-eared slider (a terrapin)
    - Birds [Birds listed in the CITES Appendices must have papers]
    - Fish [Fish listed in the CITES Appendices must have papers]
    - Hermit crab (Coenobita rugosus)
    - Green tree frog (Litoria caerulea)
    - Malayan box turtle (Cuora amboinensis) CITES Appendix II

Even though it is stated that you can apply for a license to bring in animals as pets but it is stated that it is for small mammals and birds.

In any case, since you have the pets, just keep it well... But it is better not to mention it too much.

Have fun and take care of them! Show us the tank set up or even better still, how you set up your tank.
