    why does leave turn brown ?

    hi, my leaves and some of the moss, start turning brown. Is it lack of fertilizer ? my co2 seems ok.

    can be because of many thing, fertelizer, Light, etc.

    Why don't you start by sharing your tank setup configuration.

    Yeap there are many things like the type of moss you are growing and the temperature, light on hours and so on.

    sorry, let me share more

    1. Lights 30w x 2 + 24w x 4
    2. Tanks 2ft
    3. Temp 25-27 (chiller managed)
    4. CO2 (untested, but bubble count around 3-4 per sec)
    5. Tank being around for 5 weeks

    a. Fast growing plant in Week 1
    b. Rescaped in Week 2 with mixed of plants
    c. Transfer 20 Neon from stable tank in Week 2, added 2 oto
    d. Added some Yamato (5 survived) in Week 3
    d. Introduced Flame Moss in week 4. Can see growth on the moss (grown thicker), but can also see some turning brown

    you have lots of light for 2ft tank (I'm assuming 2ftx1ftx1ft). How is your ferteliser dossing regime? make sure you dose enough ferteliser and enough CO2.

    I think it is the fertilizer... not doing it because was afraid of encouraging the algae.. will now dose on a weekly basis

    Amonia (NH3/NH4) will cause algae but not NO3.
