saw some bags of orange in c328.
however, they are all packed in 10s.
interested in the orange shrimps too, but need to check for specs in breeding them.

Sorry for re-opening this thread... 8 months down the road. Does anyone have any new developments on this?

I've gotten a few from Polyart as well but not sure what to expect when it comes to breeding.

Prices are not that high on this shrimp hence my assumption that it should not be too difficult. But then again could be wrong... just look at yamatos... cheap to buy, troublesome to breed.

I have only 1 pc of this shrimp (courtesy of a bro in AQ). Hmm.. apparently the breeding of this shrimp does not looks easy as the eggs requires brackish (saltwater condition, but somewhere less than that of Marine's SG level) to hatch into larvae before it'll turn into tiny shrimplets...

So I guess, I can only view my one & only Orange shrimp for its beauty, no chance to even see eggs as it does not cross breed with cherries/ sakuras...

One of the reasons mentioned by aquarists is the lack of male specimens in the stocks, so there aren't many opportunities for experiments I guess.

Saw a pregnant one at Polyart the other day. Tried fishing for it and I think it jumped out of the tank as I was unable to find it anywhere in the tank thereafter. Its at the topmost tank and not so easy to view.

Mine are all female... so what you mentioned about not having males are very true. Will try to see if I can spot any males at Polyart. But quite embarassing to but just 1 or 2 $1 shrimp.

I bought 5 orange shrimps from polyart approx 2 months ago, and with 3 of them pregnant. However never see any larve or baby shrimps at all. The eggs at the bottom of shrimps just disappeared mysteriously. As for colour, the orange is pretty good, never fade away.
