Would like to find out from you guys about 2 things.

    1) My ceramic diffuser does not seem to have bubbles going through all the holes, but only 1-2 holes. Is that okay? This is when i set to 2 bubbles per second. If I full blast it then bubbles will come thru all the holes.

    2) Currently I have a 1x36W PL light at 6500K. I asked an LFS whether they sell PL lights cos I was looking for more opinions. They suggested strongly against PL lights cos they said will develop algae. Issit true? They said to get FL lights instead.

Please advice cos I'll be going to get another 2 ft light tomorrow. Either PL or FL, I can't decide.

It's not the lights alone that causes algae. It promotes algae growth if there are not enough fast growing plants in the tank.
    Anyway, what's your tank size?
You currently have a 36W PL. Are you adding more lights or just replacing the tube?
In my opinion, can stick with PL light. Maybe the LFS has a lot of FL lights that's why he ask you to buy.

mine is a 2 ft tank and I think i'm gonna get the extra PL light so that i'll have 72W altogether....

I guess you're right about the LFS but I guess he also doesn't realise the PL light I'm getting is only 6500K.

I got the same comment from LFS i go to. But I went ahead with PL. No problem so far. But maybe thats just my tank. Nature sell lights at very reasonable price.
