does anyone have any comments on Rena iv2 internal filter?
    is it any gd for a 2ft X 1ft X 1ft4inch planted tank??
the sponge filter media is like a cylindrical sponge which is empty in the middle to place other forms of filter media..what do u recomend i fill it with to encourage more beneficial bacterial growth? the hollow part is only about at most 2cm in diameter...the filter output is 300L/hr which can be adjusted...also...should the aeration tubing be fit in when i add in fish, the intensity of the aeration can be adjusted.i am using DIY co2 and according to what i understand,it is unnecessary to remove the diy co2 frm the tank at night, but will that warrant plugging in the aeration tube?...plus the recomended filter media to encourage more b.bacterial growth...where can i get them and how much will it cost?
Thanks for any and all information u guys can provide...really appreciate it![]

If you want to manually open/attach and close/unattach the aeration tube everyday, then it's a good alternative to an airpump... less noisy and one less piece of equipment.

If you want to automate the process, don't use the aeration tube but get an air pump and put that on a timer.

If your CO2 injection is low enough that isn't an OD of CO2 in the morning, then you don't have to aerate the tank to counter the buildup.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

I am using one in my 2ft tank. Satisfied. It is very quiet. Can control flow rate. I filled the centre will some chips. IMO, if you tank is mature, that little bacteria colonies in the filter is not so significant compared to those that are living on your substrate.

They are those Taiwanese filter material sold in the LFS. Like small granite chips but white in colour.
