    Hi guys,
Just got a 2nd hand 3ft tank yesterday.. realised this morning that the base is chipped at the side(where the base glass is siliconed to the front panal glass).. probably about 10Lx1Dx6H mm size.. Will this be of any concern that the tank may leak or break? Is there any repairs I can do?

Another ques: How much does a 3ft glass tank cost on average? Both 6mm and 12mm thickness..

    Thanks

put lots of silicon glue on it, it will look ugly though.

I would prefer not use it, not even repairing it. Save money and get a new tank.

Happened to my 2ft tank. Each week, more chips will come off. Its like the tank is decaying...on self distruct mode. Would strongly advise you to have it change before the whole thing shatter.

this chip being on the base plate of the tank which , I assume is laid flat on a flat top, is not load bearing.. I think it is quite safe..

if the edges are sharp you can use a sharpening stone(for sharpening kitchen knives, grey, block shaped) to grind it blunt...
