Where to get a good external CO2 reactor?

Has anybody seen the one by Hydrologix or Aqualine?

Is the Dupla CO2 reactor an external or internal version?

Desperately need one and the taiwan reactor is not very good.

    Would appreciate some advice. Thanks!

    Nature Aquarium.

Btw, anybody knows what and why they put various materials in the CO2 reactors (e.g. ceramic rings, black balls, etc)?
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

I believe it's to retard/redirect the flow of water in the chamber so as to encourage diffusion of the CO2 into the water.

the black balls i think are design to dessolve the co2 injected. notice the bio ball are design to spin ( and trap some co2 as it spins). same logic as stirring sugar in a cup of water.

i agree about the logic of it
i find the modified filters that nature sells as reactors works great as a co2 reactor
much cheaper than hydrologix, but doesn't look 1/10th as good

    Hi Alex,

Your DIY reactor looks great! What modifications did you do to prevent leaking

Shouldn't you filter your water before it runs into the CO2 reactor? If not, all kind of gunk and goop will collect there isn't it?

    Regards
    Benny

    hi benny,
the natural design of the reactor actually fit pretty tightly to prevent it from leaking. however to prevent from minute leak i am using white tape ( those used to seal water pipes) to tighten the edges inside and one more layer to seal from external. reactor had been running for about 3 mth so far no leak. as for the water inlet and outlet connector i am using white tape plus water hose fasterner to secure. also no leak so far.

i only put 2 bio ball instead of 4 inside thus when the water flow thru the reactor, the bio ball will spins faster. the spinning action in the long run will cause any gunk and goo to be broken down and they will be suck into the cannister filter. take note that any larger waste had already been filtered at the inlet and has to be removed manually.

    Regards
    Alex
