What exactly is the fish you are actually referring to?
Lampeyes are generally killifishes of the Aplocheilichthys genus and not characins. Are these the fishes?

If not, you may need to be specific or preferably, show a picture. Otherwise, others may not know what fish is this.
If these are Aplocheilichthys spp., as with all fishes, keeping them healthy with good husbandry will help. Otherwise, you may wish to use lights with different spectrums to bring out certain effects, which can cause your tank to look unnatural in those colours.
