Great looking tank! I am setting up a 40g breeder right now myself and this has definitely inspired me! I love all the anubias! You should add some A. Coffeolia for sure! And some Bolbitis Huedolti would look great growing out of those rock crevices, plus it would add to the African theme. (Though I know you are not strictly going for an African theme here)

I know this has been addressed already, but to give a more detailed explanation... you are correct in that more rock = less water. This means that the overall volume of the tank stays the same. However, as mentioned before, rock is denser than water, meaning that for the same volume of water, rock has a greater mass, which is why rocks weigh more than water, (though weight is not a measure of mass, rather the measure of the gravitational force applied on an object multiplied by the mass of the object, which is why we weigh less on the moon -- our mass does not change, however there is a lower gravitational force due to the lower mass of the moon vis-a-vis that of the earth). Sorry, I am just nerding out, not trying to be a condescending wise-*** or some sort of "know-it-all." I miss high-school physics lol
